[Objective] With respect to the phenomenon of single governance object of the comprehensive control for soil and water loss

the ideas and ways of the planning and design of soil and water conservation and ecological landscape were discussed in order to provide reference for comprehensive control of soil erosion in small watershed

and obtain higher ecological

economic and social benefits. [Methods] The planning and design of soil and water conservation and ecological landscape of Meilinwan small watershed in Danyang City

Jiangsu Province was taken as an example

based on the investigation and analysis of the current conditions

the ways of the planning and design were examined. [Results] The ideas were put forward that to combine the soil and water conservation functions with the ecological landscape construction

tourism in the process of comprehensive control for soil and water loss. The relevant ideas of soil and water conservation ecological landscape were defined. [Conclusion] When plan and design the comprehensive control for the small watershed

we should make overall plans and take all factors into consideration

and combine soil and water conservation with ecological landscape

tourism and other functions.
