10-20 cm and 20-40 cm in Picea crassifolia forest were collected
and the soil physical properties
soil moisture content and soil nutrient was analyzed and determined for these soil samples. The results showed that the soil bulk density values from different soil layer were all below 1.00 g/cm3
but increased with the depth;Soil porosity showed the same trend
and the soil porosity of different soil layers were above 63% percent
indicating a good ventilation. With the depth
the soil water content decreased
with a lowest value of 18.7%.Soil organic matter and soil total nitrogen content have reached extremely high levels
soil nutrient level was marked as grade 1;Total potassium level belonged to level 2;The total phosphorus was deficiency and belong to level 4 or 5;Mean soil pH is 7.5.Suggestions were made to strengthen the effective protection and management of Picea crassifolia forest ecological system in the eastern Qilian Mountains.
