Engineering disturbance-based transplantation protection technology for alpine meadow——A case study at summit meadow of La’u Mountain
The multi-layer turf stacking techniques after turf stripping and key techniques for turf replanting on disturbed sites were investigated, in order to provide a scientific basis and technical support for alpine meadow conservation and engineering surface restoration.
Methods
2
Taking the summit alpine meadow of La’u Mountain at Mangkang County, Xizang Autonomous Region as the study site, artificial turf stripping, stacking with 2—5 layers, and turf replanting experiments were conducted. Turf preservation rates during stacking, survival rates after replanting, and plant species composition across different stacking layers and periods were compared, and key technical points of turf stripping, stacking, and replanting were analyzed.
Results
2
The overall preservation rate of stacked turf was 96.89%, and it increased significantly when more than two layers were stacked. The overall survival rate after turf replanting was 87.96%, with no significant difference among different stacking layers. Turf stacking reduced species diversity and simplified community structure. After replanting, species diversity gradually recovered to a level similar to that of the native vegetation. Considering spatial efficiency and survival rate, this study recommended stacking turf in five layers.
Conclusion
2
In alpine meadows, replanting after turf stripping is an effective measure for vegetation restoration. It is recommended to use a stacking method of five layers.
