Effects of Different Agricultural Land Use Types on Soil Properties and Soil Environment-A Case Study in Yanqing County of Beijing City
The effect of different agricultural land use types on soil properties and soil environment in Yanqing County of Beijing City were studied to provide the basis of agricultural soil utilization and sustainable development for Beijing City. The results showed that the soil pH value
organic matter content and alkaline hydrolysis nitrogen content in grain field
vegetable fields and orchard were significantly lower than those in woodland. The As
Cd
Cr content in surface soil of four different agricultural land use types had 0.93 mg/kg
0.09 mg/kg and 15.3 mg/kg higher than the soil background values
respectively. The heavy metal content of grain field and vegetable field in plough layer were higher than that of woodland and orchard. Nemerow index and the single pollution index evaluation showed that there were non-pollution in the four different agricultural land use type. Although the soil environment quality was at safe level
the highest value of single pollution reached 74% of the alarm value
but the single pollution index showed the soil heavy metal accumulated rapidly in the area. For example
the content of As and Cd in grain field increased by 20.9% and 38.5% than the forest returned from farmland. The soil pollution will be further intensified if uncontvoued.
