The establishment of a new course framework is the kernel of the teaching reform for the major of Soil and Water Conservation and Desertification Control.In this paper
a history of the teaching reform and characteristics of the major was reviewed.A framework of the course system was presented according to the relationships between the courses and the needs of society.It is recommended that the course framework should include 16 basic courses
