Through analyzing soil type on the Loess Plateau of Nort hern Shaanxi Province
the fractal dimension
fragmentation
and dominance are selected as the indexes of soil type. The indexes of soil type are analyzed using Fragstats and the value of the sensitivity of soil erosion for the soil type is calculated using ArcGIS. The relationship between sensitivity of soil erosion and pattern of soil type is then analyzed. Results show that the value of the sensitivity of soil erosion increases with the increase in the fractal dimension of fragmentation
