Soil pH Value,Organic Matter and Magnetic Susceptibility in Different Urban Function Zones of Fuzhou City
organic matter and magnetic susceptibility of urban soil in different function zones was conducted systematically in Fuzhou City. The result shows that the pH of the soils ranged from neutral to alkaline
which may be contributed by the discharge of alkaline waste during the urbanization process. The contents of soil organic matter were high generally;the industrial zone
commercial zone
scenic zone and cultural zone had high to low organic matter content
respectively
reflecting the direct relationship between soil organic matter content and human activities. The overall high magnetic susceptibility values indicated that the soils in Fuzhou City subject to substantial heavy metal pollution. The magnetic susceptibility of the function zones in order is industrial zone>commercial zone≥cultural zone>scenic zone. There is no correlation between the three variables
which is significantly different from the physiochemical properties of natural soils.
