inethod of deep-ditch manuring in arid farming apple orchard was evaluated. Deep-ditch manuring method possessed the action improving nutrient condition around root system. The soil pH was reduced. The decomposition and the utilization of soil nitrogon and organic matter were accelerated. Particularly
efficiency of phosphate fertilization was improved remarkablely. A so-called fertilizer reservoir around root system was formed. Finally
some suggestions were recommended for .fruit production.
