Through applying the clustering function of SOM (Self Organizing Mapping) network
MATLAB 5.3 software is used to classify 21 kinds of soil stylebooks in Sanjiang plain. Through comparing the result with reference No.1 which using the method of fuzzy clustering
it is concluded that the SOM network can reflect the complicated information among each soil stylebooks. The effect of classification is good
